Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + Bonus
Contract: Permanent | Full-time | Office-based with some flexibility
About the Firm
We’re working exclusively with a well-established, fast-growing accountancy practice to recruit a dynamic and experienced Practice Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a thriving firm with a strong and diverse client base — from limited companies and sole traders to high-net-worth individuals — across sectors including media, property, consultancy, hospitality, and professional services.
With two modern offices in desirable South West London locations, the practice supports over 450 limited companies and 600 individual clients. The firm has built a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and client care, and now seeks an ambitious Practice Manager to help lead its next phase of growth.
The Role
This is a senior leadership position ideal for someone with solid operational management experience in a professional practice who enjoys a varied, hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Oversee daily operations across both offices, including staff management, client workflows, and administration.
-
Act as the main point of contact for client communications via email, phone, and meetings (in-person and virtual).
-
Supervise and review the preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
-
Manage both in-house and offshore teams to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
-
Conduct ad hoc VAT reviews and support light bookkeeping tasks when required.
-
Oversee the self-assessment tax return process (SATR) and ensure efficient workflow management.
-
Handle HMRC correspondence, including LPCs, WWDs, and compliance checks.
About You
You’ll bring strong technical expertise and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset, with a genuine passion for practice management.
Essential Skills & Experience:
-
Broad general practice experience across limited companies, sole traders, VAT, CIS, and personal tax.
-
Proficient in QuickBooks and Xero (essential); familiarity with TaxCalc advantageous.
-
In-depth knowledge of self-assessment tax, especially for high-net-worth and non-domiciled individuals.
-
Experience dealing with HMRC on disclosures and compliance matters.
-
Excellent communication skills — confident and professional when dealing with clients.
-
Proven leadership and people management experience, with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate teams.
-
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a strong “can-do” attitude.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior, strategic role within a respected and commercially driven practice. You’ll:
-
Lead and shape a capable, growing team.
-
Work directly with senior leadership to influence the firm’s direction.
-
Enjoy a supportive, collaborative culture that values initiative and professional development.
-
Be part of a dynamic, expanding business with genuine scope for progression.
